NASHVILLE, Tenn. / THOMASTON, Ga. — Two teenagers, Jaylin Smith, 18, and Andrew Holsapple, 19, have been arrested and charged in connection with the February robbery of United Bank’s Northside branch in Thomaston, Georgia.
According to Thomaston Police Chief Mike Richardson, Smith entered the bank and carried out the robbery while Holsapple waited in a nearby vehicle. Investigators also linked the pair to a January bank robbery in Nashville, Tennessee.
At the time of the Georgia robbery, both suspects were staying at a local hotel in Upson County while visiting a friend.
Smith is currently being held in Tennessee, while Holsapple was arrested in Thomaston last week on an unrelated charge. During that investigation, detectives uncovered evidence linking him to the Nashville bank robbery, which subsequently led to both suspects being charged in both cases.
“This case was solved thanks to the tireless work and collaboration of our investigative team and patrol division,” said Chief Richardson. “Their commitment to public safety was key to these arrests.”
Smith and Holsapple remain in custody as the investigation continues.
