Jayden Everett was arrested on March 20, 2026, after allegedly attempting to steal $15,000 worth of jewelry from a Facebook Marketplace transaction.

Officers from the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a home in Southeast Cape Coral after the victim reported Everett tried to grab two gold chains and a gold pendant during the sale. The victim chased and restrained Everett until police arrived.

Everett was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Lee County Jail. He faces grand theft charges for property valued between $10,000 and $20,000.

Authorities reminded the public to exercise caution when conducting transactions through online marketplaces, meet in well-lit or designated safe locations, and bring another person if possible.
