Mumbai’s LT Marg Police, in collaboration with the Crime Branch, have cracked the sensational Rs50 lakh armed robbery that took place near Crawford Market. Four accused have been arrested, and the stolen cash, weapons, and other incriminating items used in the crime have been recovered.
The incident occurred on Saturday, when a businessman dealing in precious metals was ambushed near Crawford Market. Two men, posing as law enforcement officers, forcibly entered his vehicle, assaulted him, and robbed a bag containing Rs50 lakh in cash at gunpoint. The suspects then fled in a car with a fake number plate.
Following a swift investigation, including analysis of CCTV footage, mobile location tracking, and local intelligence, police identified the accused as:
Javed Salim Lakhani (22)
Sameer Damodar Jadhav (28)
Sagar Damodar Jadhav
Vikas Shankar Bane
All four were arrested in a coordinated operation and were presented before the Esplanade Court.
Police say the operation underlines their commitment to rapid crime resolution and public safety.
