In a major crackdown on illegal drugs, the Nakodar police in Punjab arrested nine individuals for possession and sale of intoxicant capsules and tablets across multiple jurisdictions, including Mehatpur, Shahkot, and Bilga.
Police recovered 2,800 Pregzara-300 capsules and 195 tablets from four accused—Jaswinder Singh (Warianna village), Anwar (Akbarpur Kalan), Paramjit Singh (Mehatpur), and Balwindar Singh.
Separately, Mehatpur police apprehended Bhajan Singh (Khurlapur) and Gurnam Singh (Gaunsuwal) with 30 intoxicating tablets.
In Shahkot, Balwindar Singh alias Kaka of Sohal Jagir village was arrested with 28 tablets.
Bilga police arrested Raman Kumar (Gumtali) and Amandeep Singh (Kang Arian, Phillaur) with 70 tablets in total.
All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigations are ongoing to trace the source and network of these illegal substances.
