Detectives have secured a prison sentence for a man responsible for a violent attack in Bournemouth.

Jasper Bailey, 26, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

Dorset Police confirmed that the assault occurred at a property on Clarence Park Road at around 7pm on Friday, 27 October 2023. The victim, a man in his 20s, was grabbed by Bailey, thrown to the floor, and repeatedly punched and kicked in the face. The defendant also briefly pressed on the victim’s neck, obstructing his breathing.

Bailey was later identified and arrested. On Friday, 3 October 2025, Bournemouth Crown Court sentenced him to four years in prison. The sentence also covered his involvement in Class A drug supply.

Detective Constable Ahmed Sabik stated: “This was a nasty assault in which the victim sustained a fractured cheekbone and bruising to his back and leg. Violence is not tolerated, and we are pleased to have held Bailey accountable.”
