Ruston, La. (KTVE/KARD) — A 46-year-old Ruston man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of sexually assaulting a juvenile victim. Jason Jones was arrested in May 2023 after an investigation by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed that he had engaged in molestation and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The investigation began on May 10, 2023, following claims of juvenile sexual abuse. Jones was arrested the following day, while his wife, Laura Jones, was arrested a day later. Authorities discovered that Laura had been aware of her husband’s actions several months before the investigation began but failed to report the abuse.

In February 2025, Jason Jones pled guilty to Molestation of a Juvenile and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the indecent behavior charge and five years for molestation. After serving his prison term, Jason will be required to complete five years of supervised probation. Additionally, he has been ordered to pay $75,000 in restitution to the victim and must register as a sex offender.

Laura Jones, initially charged with 83 counts of Accessory After the Fact to Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and Failure to Report the Commission of Certain Felonies, faces ongoing legal proceedings.
