LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Authorities arrested 30-year-old Jason Jermain Johnson of Centerville, Tennessee, following a dangerous shooting on Interstate 65 Saturday.
Deputies responded to reports near Mile Marker 347 of a motorcyclist who fired multiple shots at a vehicle carrying a family. The vehicle was struck, putting those inside at risk.
After receiving a detailed description from a 911 caller, officers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency tracked Johnson about 10 miles from the incident. Upon arrest, Johnson was found with a loaded pistol, two loaded magazines, and was wearing a bullet-resistant vest beneath an Outcast Motorcycle Club vest.
Johnson faces three counts of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. His bond has yet to be set, and an Aniah’s Law hearing is pending.
Limestone County Sheriff McLaughlin condemned the reckless act, stating, “This reckless violence has no place on our highways. We are thankful no innocent lives were lost and will continue collaborating with law enforcement partners to protect the public.”
