Colorado Springs, Colo. — A man was arrested Friday after fleeing police in a stolen vehicle, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

The CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft unit identified a blue 2013 Toyota Corolla reported stolen Wednesday from the 3000 block of North Nevada Avenue.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Centennial Boulevard and Fillmore Street, but the driver, 37-year-old Jason Garling, fled the scene.

Detectives tracked the car to the intersection of Mt. View Lane and Cragmor Road. Garling exited the vehicle and was apprehended shortly thereafter by officers.

Garling faces charges including motor vehicle theft, possession of an illegal weapon, and felony eluding. He has been transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
