TROY, Ala. — An Arkansas man is in custody on narcotics charges following an investigation in Troy, according to Police Chief Danny Barron.
Barron said officers responded around 1:00 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of County Road 2224 after receiving a report of a suspicious person allegedly using narcotics.
When officers arrived, they encountered Jason Carlyle Smith, 47, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, who was reportedly found in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine, personal-use marijuana and items commonly associated with smoking illegal narcotics.
Smith has been charged with:
Possession of methamphetamine
Second-degree possession of marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia
He was transported to the Pike County Jail and is being held on a $27,000 bond.
