RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Authorities arrested 47-year-old Jason Brauner after he allegedly stole over $100,000 worth of surgical equipment and skin grafts from three hospitals across Southern California.
Unlike a typical burglary, Brauner reportedly gained access by wearing blue scrubs and a surgical mask, allowing him to move through restricted hospital areas without raising suspicion.
The thefts spanned multiple cities, but investigators used cellphone data, license plate scans, and hospital surveillance footage to track down the suspect. Brauner now faces multiple charges connected to the elaborate scheme.
