KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department arrested three individuals, including two juveniles, Sunday after a stolen car was found at a local Walmart.

The trio faces charges for auto theft and weapons violations after officers discovered two loaded handguns and a .40 caliber drum magazine inside the vehicle, KPD reported.

Police were called to the Walmart on Kinzel Way just before 6 p.m. after a man spotted his father’s stolen car parked on site.

A witness provided descriptions of the suspects. A 16-year-old was detained near the store entrance after attempting to flee from officers.

Officers located 19-year-old Jarvon Rucker inside the Walmart. He tried to escape by running across the parking lot but was apprehended at a nearby gas station.

The third suspect was taken into custody inside the store without resistance, according to KPD.
