Huntsville Man Arrested in Multi-County Drug Busts
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. – A Huntsville man, Jaquine Tuakei Love, has been arrested in connection with two major drug busts across Morgan and Madison counties.
Large Drug Seizure in Decatur
On February 27, Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit agents conducted an operation in southwest Decatur near Flint. During the raid, authorities seized:
Nearly four pounds of methamphetamine
Two ounces of cocaine
Agents made contact with Jaquine Tuakei Love, and after further investigation, they discovered additional narcotics at a home in Huntsville.
Coordinated Bust in Huntsville
Morgan County agents coordinated with the North Alabama Drug Task Force (NADTF) and executed a search at a Huntsville residence. There, officers found:
Nearly two more pounds of methamphetamine
Love was immediately arrested and booked into the Madison County Jail on trafficking charges related to the Huntsville drug seizure. His bond was set at $1,500,000.
Additional Methamphetamine Recovered
Authorities later discovered that Love had attempted to move another stash of meth in Decatur. Agents responded to the 2800 block of Sandlin Road, where they located an individual in possession of approximately 11 ounces of methamphetamine tied to Love.
Pending Charges in Morgan County
Following his release from Madison County Jail, Love will face additional charges in Morgan County, including:
Two counts of trafficking methamphetamine
One count of trafficking cocaine
He will then be transferred to Morgan County Jail, where he will be held on a $750,000 bond.
Total Drug Seizure
In total, authorities seized:
Over six pounds of methamphetamine
Two ounces of cocaine
