PHENIX CITY, Ala. — An arrest has been made following a Wednesday night shooting in Phenix City that left two men injured, according to local authorities.
The shooting occurred in the 1300 block of 28th Avenue. Police identified the victims as 24-year-old Trametrius Daniels and 26-year-old Jaquan Jones, both of Phenix City.
Investigators with the Phenix City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division identified Jones as the suspect in the shooting. He was taken into custody shortly after receiving treatment at a Columbus hospital on outstanding attempted murder warrants related to a separate shooting incident.
Police say additional attempted murder charges will be issued in connection with Wednesday night’s shooting.
Officers responded to the scene around 8:25 p.m. and found Daniels suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Jones has since been transported to the Muscogee County Jail as the investigation continues. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact Investigator Doleman at 334-448-2796.
