ASHLAND, N.Y. (WETM) — A Southport man, Jaquan N. Boykin, 23, was arrested in Ashland, New York, over the weekend after authorities discovered an active warrant for his arrest in Georgia. The warrant, issued by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, was related to charges of methamphetamine possession.
Boykin was stopped by local deputies on Saturday, February 15, after violating several traffic and vehicle regulations. Upon further investigation, deputies found the outstanding warrant and took Boykin into custody as a fugitive from justice.
Following his arrest, Boykin was processed in Ashland Town Court before being transferred to the Chemung County Jail. He is now awaiting extradition to Georgia to face the drug charges.
