Janine Husar Busted With Meth, Pills on I-80 in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 63-year-old Lincoln woman was arrested early Friday morning after being caught with a large quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, and prescription pills during a traffic stop.

Just after 1:30 a.m., the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 80 near Waverly. According to an arrest affidavit, the driver, Janine Husar, was stopped for multiple traffic violations.

Investigators noticed a bag containing methamphetamine residue on the passenger seat and conducted a full search of the vehicle.

The search uncovered a plastic-wrapped package of meth on the floorboard and eight additional baggies of meth in the center console. The total weight of the meth was 379.4 grams — nearly 13 ounces.

In addition, officers found 13 alprazolam pills, a prescription-only drug commonly used to treat anxiety, and 10.7 grams of marijuana.

Court documents allege Husar was dealing drugs. Investigators reportedly found a notebook in the vehicle detailing drug transactions.

Husar was charged with possession of more than 140 grams of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance. A judge set her bond at $500,000, requiring $50,000 cash to secure her release from Lancaster County Jail.

She is scheduled to appear in court again on June 27.
