Jamnagar police, in a major crackdown under the “No Drugs in Jamnagar” campaign, have arrested four men from Punjab for possession of 418 grams of heroin, valued at approximately Rs83.6 lakh.
The arrests occurred following a targeted raid at a hotel in the Khawadi area, acting on specific intelligence regarding drug trafficking in the city. The accused, Visalsingh, Harpritsingh, Bikramjitting, and Jagdipsingh, were apprehended immediately.
Police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Meghpar (Padana) police station and have begun questioning the suspects. Initial investigations indicate that the heroin was supplied by a fugitive named Philips, also known as Fauji, from Amritsar, Punjab. Efforts to track and apprehend him are ongoing.
Authorities have extended the investigation to Punjab to identify the source and broader network involved in the trafficking. Police are reviewing mobile records, travel routes, and potential connections to larger narcotics syndicates.
The operation highlights Jamnagar police’s commitment to disrupting drug supply chains and curbing illegal narcotics distribution in the region.
