
JACKSON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – Two individuals are in custody following separate vehicle theft investigations in Jackson County, Wisconsin.
On August 15, 2025, around 4:26 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle traveling into the county via Interstate 94 near the Town of Northfield. Deputies quickly located the vehicle in the Town of Brockway and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 39-year-old Jamila Troop of Hudson, Wisconsin, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
Just four days later, on August 19, at approximately 6:36 p.m., a stolen vehicle was flagged at a gas station in the City of Black River Falls by the FLOCK automated license plate reader system.
A deputy responded to the alert and found 53-year-old Truedicha Jones of Fairburn, Georgia, entering the vehicle. Jones admitted to operating the stolen car and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
Authorities praised the use of license plate recognition technology and quick action by deputies for the successful recovery of the stolen vehicles.
