MIDDLE SACKVILLE, N.S. — A man and a woman are facing multiple drug and firearm-related charges following a police raid at a home in Middle Sackville last week.
Police executed a search warrant in the 2800 block of Sackville Drive on Oct. 23, arresting a 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman at the scene.
During the search, officers seized cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, meth ice pills, prison packs, cash, and a stolen ATV. A shotgun was also found in a nearby wooded area and seized by investigators.
Jamie Joseph Lafitte, of Middle Sackville, faces several charges, including:
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (two counts)
Laundering proceeds of crime
Possession of property obtained by crime
Multiple firearm offences, including unsafe storage and unauthorized possession
Two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
Four counts of failure to comply with a release order
Lafitte appeared in Dartmouth provincial court the following day and remains in custody. He is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 19.
Danika Jean Moore, also of Middle Sackville, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was released on conditions and is also due in court on Nov. 19.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
