TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — James Mack, 46, wanted for a fatal shooting in New Orleans, was apprehended in Tallahassee on Wednesday by the U.S. Marshals Service.
New Orleans police reported that on July 24, officers responded to a shooting where the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was hospitalized but later died from injuries.
After receiving a tip that Mack was staying with a friend on Patrick Avenue in Tallahassee, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force began surveillance of the location. Upon learning law enforcement was searching for him, Mack contacted New Orleans authorities and agreed to surrender.
Mack was arrested without incident and is currently held in the Leon County Jail pending extradition to New Orleans.
