BELLEVUE, Neb. — An 83-year-old man, James Lewin, was arrested Wednesday by Bellevue police on a charge of possessing child pornography.
According to an arrest affidavit, a probation officer discovered a nude image of a child, estimated to be between 5 and 10 years old, on Lewin’s computer. The officer also found search history entries related to concealing digital images.
When questioned by police, Lewin reportedly claimed he didn’t know how the image got onto his device and suggested it may have been sent to him via an online chat. He also denied knowledge of how to hide files, despite his search history indicating otherwise.
Lewin was already serving a two-year probation sentence from May 2025 for a prior disturbing the peace conviction.
He is scheduled to appear in Sarpy County court on Friday to face the new child pornography charge.
