James Key Jr. and Justin Weston Arrested for Benton Go-Cart Theft

Two charged after go-cart stolen from Benton home

BENTON – Two men have been charged with theft in Franklin County following the theft of a go-cart from a rural Benton residence last Wednesday.

Franklin County Sheriff Kyle Bacon reported that deputies responded to the homeowner’s report and collected information and evidence that led to identifying a suspect and suspect vehicle.

On Sunday, a deputy on patrol spotted the suspect vehicle and stopped it. James A. Key Jr., 27, from West Frankfort, was arrested and charged with theft over $500.

A second suspect, 35-year-old Justin A. Weston of Woodlawn, was later apprehended and also charged with theft over $500. The stolen go-cart was recovered during the arrest.
