James David Branch, 41, of Gastonia was arrested by Troutman Police on Thursday, May 29, after officers discovered methamphetamine during a traffic stop.
Shortly after 8 p.m., officers pulled over Branch’s vehicle on Charlotte Highway at the intersection with Flower House Loop for an expired registration plate. During the stop, Branch consented to a search of his vehicle. Officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside.
Branch was taken into custody and held without bond, as he was already out on pre-trial release at the time of the arrest. His District Court hearing is scheduled for June 23.
