MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) — Memphis Police have arrested James Carter, a man accused of multiple armed robberies across the city in late June.
Between June 16 and June 30, officers received several reports describing a masked suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect was later identified as James Carter.
The first incident occurred on June 16 near Tate Avenue, where Carter reportedly threatened a victim with a handgun and demanded headphones, money, and a wallet.
On June 22, near Danny Thomas Boulevard, Carter allegedly pulled a handgun on another victim, stealing their phone, wallet, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
In another incident later that month, Carter is accused of robbing a home on St. Paul Avenue, stealing $600 in cash and a Hyundai Elantra.
On July 1, Memphis officers spotted Carter driving the stolen Hyundai and attempted to stop him. Carter fled, prompting a brief vehicle pursuit before officers apprehended him.
