James Alvin Ellison, 20, was indicted in Chatham County on Wednesday in connection to multiple shootings and an armed robbery.
Ellison, who was 18 at the time of a 2024 shooting, is accused of shooting a victim in the left shoulder on August 16, 2024. He faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Bond was set at $50,000 with an ankle monitor on January 29, 2026, for this case.
He was also indicted for a separate Nov. 17, 2025, shooting, facing aggravated assault, criminal damage of property, and firearm charges. Additionally, Ellison is charged with armed robbery from a Nov. 9, 2024, incident. He was denied bond in the armed robbery case and was arrested 11 days later while receiving treatment for an unrelated gunshot wound.
