PORT ALLEN, La. — Jalen Ferguson, 22, was arrested following a shooting in the parking lot of a Port Allen casino, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies responded to the scene on Lobdell Highway on Friday, January 9, shortly after 10 p.m. Ferguson faces two counts of aggravated second-degree battery.

Investigators said the incident began when two women went to a home in Port Allen to confront Ferguson. Ferguson and another woman were seen leaving the residence, and the two women followed him to the casino parking lot, where a physical altercation occurred. Deputies said Ferguson fired a weapon after being pepper-sprayed.

One woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while the other two were struck by bullet fragments. All three are expected to survive. One of the injured women has declined to pursue charges.

Deputies stopped Ferguson a short distance from the casino and booked him into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are possible.
