On Tuesday, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police successfully arrested a couple with 310 grams of heroin. The operation was led by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma. The arrests were made during a routine naka checking on the Jandiala-Phagwara road.
Police officers noticed the suspicious behavior of a man and a woman and stopped them for questioning. A subsequent search of their belongings resulted in the recovery of 310 grams of heroin.
The suspects were identified as Bulla and Harpreet Kaur, alias Preety, both residents of village Lakhanpal, Jalandhar. Harpreet Kaur is married to Bulla.
An FIR has been filed under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Sadar Police Station, Jalandhar. The police are currently investigating further to identify possible connections to other drug smuggling activities.
