A 34-year-old man from Hull, Iowa, has been arrested on multiple felony charges following a business burglary.
Jakob Denzell Gamboa was taken into custody on March 1, facing first-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree burglary charges, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest stems from a Feb. 25 report of a break-in at Ozone Solutions in Hull. The building sustained more than $1,500 in damage during the incident. Surveillance footage showed Gamboa attempting to enter the building through a locked door while a known associate was inside. A vehicle linked to Gamboa was also observed at the scene.
Search warrants executed at residences associated with Gamboa and his associate recovered over $10,000 worth of stolen property, including power tools, laboratory equipment, ozone-related products, and electronic devices.
During an interview, Gamboa admitted to unlawfully entering the business on at least two occasions and taking property. Under Iowa law, first-degree theft applies when stolen property exceeds $10,000, and second-degree criminal mischief applies to property damage between $1,501 and $10,000.
