Jakeb Mosher Arrested for Welfare Fraud in Montgomery County

St. Johnsville man faces felony charges after welfare fraud investigation

Montgomery County, NY — Jakeb Mosher, a 29-year-old resident of St. Johnsville, was arrested Wednesday following a joint investigation into welfare fraud.

The investigation was conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit, the Department of Social Services, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Mosher has been charged with one count of felony fourth-degree welfare fraud and one misdemeanor count of offering a second-degree false instrument for filing. Authorities allege that Mosher failed to report all income earned within his household while receiving welfare benefits.

Mosher was arrested, processed at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and released on an appearance ticket for Amsterdam City Court.
