Two suspects, Hasan from Saadatganj, Lucknow, and Asim from Rani Kothi Napier Road Colony, Thakurganj, were arrested on Sunday for their alleged involvement in a Rs69 lakh cyber fraud.

Police recovered three mobile phones, four chequebooks, six debit cards, and a car from the accused. The suspects used a rickshaw puller’s bank account to carry out fraudulent transactions.

The case came to light after the director of a private company filed a complaint. The cybercrime unit traced digital footprints and analyzed banking transactions, which led to the suspects’ location in Jajmau.

Investigations revealed that the accused targeted business entities using sophisticated cyber techniques. Their modus operandi involved exploiting vulnerable individuals’ accounts, such as that of a rickshaw puller, to execute their scams.

The police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act and other relevant laws. Further investigations are ongoing to identify accomplices and recover the stolen money.
