Jaisharr Kirby Charged in June Homicide of Jacob Diehl

16-year-old faces felony murder, attempted robbery charges in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A second individual has been charged in connection with the homicide of Jacob Diehl that occurred last month.

The Winston-Salem Police Department arrested 16-year-old Jaisharr Jahon Semai Kirby on Thursday. Kirby faces felony murder and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon charges and is being charged as an adult.

Kirby is the second person charged in the case; earlier in June, Mickey James Dewalt was also charged with the same offenses.

Jacob Diehl was fatally shot in a parking lot off Dalewood Drive around 2 a.m. on June 25.
