Jaipur police on Thursday solved a burglary case reported from a silver jewellery workshop in Mehandi ka Chauk under the Manak Chowk Police Station area, recovering stolen silver jewellery worth around Rs 10 lakh.
According to SHO Rakesh Khyalia, one accused was arrested for committing the theft, while another was held for receiving stolen property. Police are continuing a search for a third suspect connected to the crime.
The accused have been identified as:
Rehan (20) – arrested for committing the theft
Mohammad Sajid (26) – arrested for receiving the stolen goods
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Karan Sharma said the burglary occurred on the night of January 26 at a workshop-cum-shop in Mehandi ka Chauk.
The complainant, Lakshman Singh, who runs the silver jewellery workshop, reported that he found the safe locks broken on the morning of January 27. Police stated that the accused broke through a wall of the workshop and stole approximately 3 kg of silver jewellery.
Following the incident, police deployed plainclothes surveillance teams and reviewed footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the surrounding lanes and entry routes, which led to the arrests and recovery of the stolen items.
