The Crime Branch of Jaipur Police arrested two foreign nationals on Friday for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking network operating in the city.

According to Abhijit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), the accused have been identified as Mohammad (24), a resident of Cairo, Egypt, and Margaret alias Shakira (31), from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The duo had been living in a rented house in Lajpat Nagar.

Investigators said Mohammad was enrolled in a pharmacy program at Vivekanand Global University and allegedly used his student status as a cover to run a cocaine supply chain in the city.

When asked to present travel documents, Mohammad told police that his passport had earlier been seized in a case registered at Ramnagariya Police Station. Meanwhile, Margaret claimed her passport was with an acquaintance in Delhi. Police confirmed that both individuals’ visas had expired.

Authorities registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Foreigners Act (India) at Pratap Nagar Police Station. The seized narcotics, including cocaine and MDMA, are estimated to have an international market value of around Rs 5 lakh.

Officials said the arrests are part of a wider crackdown by Jaipur Police on narcotics networks operating in the city. Investigators are now examining the suspects’ local contacts, financial transactions, digital devices, and call records to determine whether they were linked to a broader interstate or international drug trafficking syndicate.
