QUITMAN, Texas (KLTV) – A Wood County grand jury has indicted Jade Sheridan Bowden, 28, of Mineola, on charges of stealing more than $29,000 from Alba-Golden Independent School District.

Bowden, who worked as a financial officer for the school district from February 2024 to April 2025, was arrested on July 18 following an investigation by the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

Concerns about the theft were initially raised by Superintendent Dr. Shelby Davidson, who reported discrepancies in payments. This prompted a thorough investigation that led to the grand jury indictment.

The grand jury convened on July 14 and formally charged Bowden with theft related to her time handling the district’s finances. The case is ongoing as authorities continue to pursue justice.
