Jacquelyne Leiataua Sentenced to 12+ Years for Drugs, Firearm

Lowndes County woman convicted on meth, fentanyl, and gun charges

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Lowndes County woman, Jacquelyne Leiataua, has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison following her guilty plea on drug and firearm charges.

Leiataua, from Columbus, pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl with intent to distribute, as well as illegally possessing a firearm to further her drug activities.

U.S. District Judge Glen Davidson handed down an 85-month sentence for the drug offenses, followed by an additional 60 months for the firearm charge, to be served consecutively.

The case was developed through a coordinated investigation involving the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department, DEA, ATF, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
