A man who relentlessly harassed a woman he believed he was in a relationship with has been jailed. Jacob Malek, 31, was arrested outside the victim’s home after banging on her door and shouting in the early hours of January 27, 2024, in Crewe.
Repeated Harassment and Forced Entry
According to Cheshire Police, Malek repeatedly tried to contact the victim by sending unwanted messages to her daughter via Facebook, in an attempt to get the woman to speak to him. Authorities also revealed that Malek had previously forced his way into her home by climbing through a bathroom window, leaving the victim and her children in fear.
Legal Proceedings & Sentencing
Malek was charged with stalking with fear of violence. He initially pleaded not guilty in February but later changed his plea to guilty.
On March 21, 2024, Malek was sentenced at Warrington Magistrates’ Court to 52 weeks in prison. He was also given a five-year restraining order, barring him from any contact with the victim.
