Jacob Fagans Charged in Calhoun Debit Card Fraud Case

Accused of using lost card at four stores for nearly $50

CALHOUN, Ga. — A Calhoun man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of fraud after police say he found and used a lost debit card at several local businesses.

Jacob Bryan Fagans, 29, allegedly discovered the card after it was lost at a Kroger store. According to police reports, before the card’s owner realized it was missing, unauthorized transactions were made at Marathon, Little Giant, Save Town, and Exxon, all located in Calhoun.

The total amount charged to the victim’s account was $49.88.

Following an investigation, Fagans was arrested and charged with:

Four counts of financial transaction card fraud

Four counts of identity fraud

Tampering with evidence

He is currently being held as the case proceeds through the legal system. Police have not stated whether any of the stolen funds were recovered.
