LAS VEGAS, Nev. — A man was arrested Friday night on an open murder charge following a fatal shooting near Harry Reid International Airport, according to a release from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Jacob Conrad, 34, was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Detention Center after police responded to a report of a shooting around 9 p.m. in the 6600 block of Gilespie Street, just south of the airport near Sunset Road and the South Strip Transit Terminal.
According to investigators, Conrad and the victim — who has not yet been publicly identified — arrived at a parking lot in the same vehicle before a physical altercation occurred between them. Police believe Conrad then shot the victim, who was transported to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.
In addition to the open murder charge, Conrad was also arrested on suspicion of robbery and is reportedly facing an out-of-state warrant, according to jail records.
The Clark County coroner’s office had not yet released the victim’s identity as of Saturday evening.
