JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Jacksonville men, Jaaon McGhee, 25, and Lorenzo Dukes, 24, were arrested after authorities seized over 98,000 potentially lethal fentanyl doses, firearms, drugs, and cash following a traffic stop.
Detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Community Problem Response (CPR) Unit had been investigating drug-related activities when they observed suspicious behavior outside a residence on Spearing Street. They saw individuals loading items into a vehicle, which prompted them to believe a drug deal was taking place.
After stopping the car, authorities discovered:
78 grams of fentanyl, enough for approximately 39,000 potentially deadly doses
25 grams of cocaine
40 grams of marijuana
The traffic stop led to the securing of a search warrant for the residence, where detectives uncovered:
119 grams of fentanyl, translating to over 59,000 potentially lethal doses
25 grams of cocaine
23.5 grams of marijuana
10 firearms
$7,000 in cash
The arrests of McGhee and Dukes followed, with both men now facing multiple felony charges, including possession of fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, firearms, and cash. Authorities are continuing their efforts to address drug-related violence in the area, with this investigation contributing to the disruption of a major local drug operation.
