New Delhi: In a successful operation, Delhi Police Cyber Cell has arrested two individuals from Gujarat for allegedly defrauding a local resident of Rs11.2 lakh through a fake online stock trading platform named Blinkxmax. The accused, Jabir Husen (38) and Maaz Arodiya (30), hail from Sabarkantha, Gujarat.

The arrest follows a complaint filed on May 13 via the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal. The complainant stated that he was lured into investing large sums after being contacted via a misleading Facebook group, which directed him to the Blinkxmax app—a fraudulent trading platform promising high returns.

The victim gradually transferred Rs11.2 lakh into the scammers’ accounts, only to realise later that the platform was fake and his funds had vanished.

Following the complaint, Delhi Police conducted a technical investigation, tracking digital footprints, financial transactions, and social media activity. Based on the leads:

A team was dispatched to Gujarat.

Two mobile phones, ATM cards, a passbook, and a cheque book were seized from the accused.

The duo was arrested and brought to Delhi for further interrogation.

Police officials stated the scam is part of a larger interstate network, with similar fraud cases being reported across various states. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the cyber fraud syndicate.
