The K.R. Pura police have arrested an interstate burglar, Prasad Babu (28), for stealing two-wheelers in the city and across other states. The police recovered 100 stolen two-wheelers, worth a total of Rs1.45 crore, from him on Friday.

Prasad Babu, a resident of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, had moved to the city four years ago. Initially, he worked as a mechanic while living in K.R. Puram. Later, he returned to his hometown and began working as an auto driver. During his trips back to Bengaluru, Babu would travel by bus at night, steal two-wheelers, and then ride them back to Andhra Pradesh the same night, evading capture.

The police, after a detailed investigation, managed to arrest him and seize the stolen bikes. Babu’s modus operandi involved stealing bikes across different states and using them to return home, making him an elusive criminal for several years. His arrest has been a significant breakthrough for the K.R. Pura police in curbing interstate vehicle thefts.
