The crime branch of Indore police arrested a woman on Tuesday night and recovered 34.6 grams of MD drugs from her possession. The contraband, hidden in her handbag, is valued at approximately Rs3.40 lakh in the international market.

Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya said the arrest was part of a sustained operation targeting illegal narcotics trade and trafficking in the city. Acting on specific intelligence, officials conducted surveillance in various areas and spotted a woman near Sanwariya Greens Marriage Garden, close to Regional Park.

The woman appeared nervous on noticing the police and attempted to evade questioning. Her suspicious behavior prompted the team to detain her. During questioning, she gave inconsistent responses before identifying herself as Fatima Mansoori, a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

A female constable conducted a search, recovering 34.6 grams of MD drugs from her handbag. A case has been registered against her under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Fatima allegedly procured the drugs at a low cost and sold them to local addicts in Indore at higher rates for quick profit. Police are probing how she arrived from Mumbai and identifying her local contacts.

Investigators also revealed that Fatima had studied up to Class XII and worked as a domestic cook in different households. Authorities are working to trace her supply chain and determine if she is linked to a larger interstate narcotics network.
