In a significant operation, the Indore Crime Branch arrested Ajay Panwar, a 25-year-old resident of Indore, on Sunday after seizing 5.297 kg of cannabis. The total value of the drugs was estimated at Rs 1 lakh.
The arrest took place in Scheme No 140, Main Road, when police, on a routine patrol, spotted Panwar riding a motorcycle. Upon noticing the police, he attempted to flee but was quickly intercepted. Upon searching, the police discovered the cannabis in his possession.
During preliminary questioning, Panwar admitted to purchasing the drug at a lower price and intended to sell it to young buyers at higher rates. Authorities also reported that Panwar is a habitual drug user. The police have registered a case and taken him into custody for further investigation.
