Haryana Police, in a joint operation with Indore Police, busted a fake matrimonial call center operating on Airport Road, Indore, on Friday evening. The center, running under the name “Bharat Wedding & Community Matrimonial,” allegedly duped people by luring them with fake marriage proposals.
A youth from Haryana was among the victims who lost a significant amount of money in the scam. Acting on a tip-off from Jind Cyber Police, the joint team raided the premises and arrested four accused. During the operation, officials recovered 90 mobile phones, 5 laptops, and Rs1.40 lakh in cash.
DCP Krishnalal Chandani said the case came to light after a youth from Jind district lodged a complaint alleging he had been cheated through a fake marriage proposal. Technical surveillance traced the suspects to Aarti Apartment, Flat No. 302, Colony Nagar, Indore, prompting the raid by the Jind Cyber Police and Aerodrome Police.
