Illegal Alien Erik Jimenez Arrested for Aggravated Assault in Toms River

Erik Jimenez Faces Charges for Domestic Violence, Strangulation, and ICE Detainer

by Amelia Crawford

Erik D. Jimenez, an illegal alien incarcerated in Ocean County, New Jersey, is facing serious charges after being arrested on February 4, 2025. Jimenez, 37, was booked into the Ocean County Jail on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation and attempting to cause bodily injury to a domestic violence victim.

The charges against Jimenez include a fourth-degree offense under New Jersey statute 2C:12-1A(1) for attempting to cause bodily injury, and a second-degree offense under statute 2C:12-1B(13) for the aggravated assault by strangulation. These charges stem from an alleged incident involving a domestic violence victim.

In addition to the state charges, Jimenez has a detainer from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which could complicate his custody status. Authorities have not yet determined a release date for Jimenez, and his release is subject to further legal processes and his ICE detainer.

The case remains under investigation, and further details about the alleged assault have not been disclosed by authorities at this time. Jimenez is currently being held without bail while awaiting legal proceedings.
