Illegal Alien Arrested in Knox County for Identity Theft, Fraud

Zureymal L. Martinez faces court hearing for food assistance fraud

Knox County, TN – 41-year-old Zureymal L. Martinez was arrested on December 14, 2024, in Knox County for identity theft and fraudulent receipt of food assistance. Martinez was taken into custody and held on a $40,000 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in court on February 20, 2025. According to official records, Martinez is currently being held on an immigration detainer, meaning she is suspected to be in the country illegally. She will remain in jail until she is transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for further action.

Martinez’s arrest underscores ongoing efforts to address identity theft and fraud within the community, particularly related to public assistance programs.
