ICE Arrests Cuban National for Bomb Threat Against Congresswoman
Tampa, FL — Rigoberto Albizar-Martinez, a 58-year-old Cuban illegal immigrant, was arrested by ICE over the weekend following a bomb threat left on the voicemail of Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., authorities confirmed.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) described Albizar-Martinez as one of the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens. He was sentenced to one year in prison in May after being found guilty of leaving a vulgar and racist voicemail threatening to plant a bomb in Castor’s Tampa office.
In the threatening message, Albizar-Martinez said in Spanish, “I’m going to plant a bomb in your office. It’s a threat,” and used obscenities targeting the congresswoman, Democrats, Black people, and pro-Palestinian individuals.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemned the act, stating, “There is no place for political violence in America.” She praised ICE for removing this national security threat from the country.
Rep. Castor has not yet commented on the arrest.
