Ibrahim Bathees Arrested After Evading Court for 2 Years

Vitla police nab absconder at Mangaluru Airport

An accused who had been evading court proceedings for nearly two years by staying abroad was arrested at Mangaluru International Airport by Vitla police.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ibrahim Bathees, a resident of Kanyana in Bantwal.

Ibrahim was apprehended on February 24 while returning from abroad. The arrest was carried out in coordination with immigration authorities at the airport, with the Vitla Police Station head constable and a police constable taking him into custody. He was then produced before the court.

The court has remanded the accused to judicial custody until March 7.

A case (Crime No. 193/2019) had been registered against him at Vitla Police Station under Sections 427 (mischief causing damage), 504 (intentional insult), 394 (robbery), and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the IPC, along with Section 2(A) of the Prevention of Destruction and Loss of Property Act.
