CLAYMONT, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested a Claymont man in connection with an alleged robbery at a discount store along Philadelphia Pike, an incident authorities say was resolved within minutes.
Police identified the suspect as Ian Eisiminger, 42, of Claymont. Troopers responded to a report of a robbery at the Dollar General located at 2605 Philadelphia Pike around 7:30 p.m. on February 2, 2026.
According to investigators, responding troopers obtained a description of the suspect and shortly afterward located a man matching that description walking along a nearby street. The individual was detained without incident and identified as Eisiminger.
The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case and alleged that Eisiminger entered the store, walked through the aisles for several minutes, and then approached a clerk, handing over a note demanding money from the cash register.
Store employees complied, and the suspect allegedly fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Troopers later recovered clothing items believed to have been worn during the robbery near a nearby bus stop, police said.
Eisiminger was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 1, where he was charged with two counts of robbery in the second degree, a felony offense. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,000 cash bail.
All charges are allegations, and Eisiminger is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
