In a successful operation by the Hyderabad Special Operations Team (SOT) along with Petbasheerabad Police, Tamk Issar Singh, a 55-year-old drug peddler from Medchal Malkajgiri, was arrested for allegedly trafficking ganja chocolates and dry ganja. The authorities seized 12.68 kg of ganja chocolates and 80 gm of dry ganja, with an estimated street value of Rs1.05 lakh.
The arrest took place on Suchitra X Road Auto Stand following a tip-off about Singh’s involvement in the illegal drug trade. The police team, acting swiftly on the information, apprehended Singh, who was reportedly transporting the drugs for distribution in the city.
Singh’s arrest is part of the ongoing crackdown by the Hyderabad Police against drug trafficking in the region, particularly the smuggling of ganja-based products like chocolates, which have been emerging as a new form of drug abuse among youth.
Authorities have confirmed that the accused was well-known for his role in the local drug trade and investigations are ongoing to trace his suppliers and other accomplices in the network. This operation highlights the city’s continued efforts to combat narcotics distribution and maintain public safety.
