Hyderabad North Zone police have arrested three individuals in connection with two high-value thefts carried out by domestic servants, recovering gold and silver ornaments valued at approximately Rs31 lakh.

In the first case, Uragadda Madhavi (35) and her husband Uragadda Krishnaiah (40) were apprehended by Karkhana police on December 15. The arrests followed a complaint by Gajawada Sridhar (52), a jewellery businessman from Bowenpally, who reported that gold ornaments and gold biscuits had gone missing from his home over a period of time.

Police investigations revealed that the couple had exploited their positions as domestic helpers to gradually steal valuable items from the victim’s residence. The recovered property includes gold jewellery and gold biscuits, with an estimated total value of Rs31 lakh.

Authorities are continuing their probe to determine if the accused were involved in similar thefts in other households in Hyderabad. The case highlights the risks posed by trust-based domestic employment and the importance of vigilance regarding valuable assets at home.
